 The stud pattern is known as the “PCD” – Pitch Circle Diameter The PCD for this era was 5 x 5 inch – that is, 5 studs in a 5 inch circle The studs were half inch UNF with RH threads. From the end of 1952 rim width increased to 5 and a half inches – initially identified by small indentations either side of the valve and then the characters “5 ½ K” stamped into the rim. Standard fitment tyres were 6 x 16 on both rim widths. Chrome dressed rims cannot be fitted to early wheels, as the slots are not big enough to permit the special clips to pass through. It is possible to fit later, wider rims to early cars
