X-type Front Grilles

The X Type is a beautiful little Jaguar, but like a lot of people, I like to make my own mark on my cars. For Christmas, my boyfriend got me a facelift grille. This is the simple black mesh that sits in the upper grille, and is available in chrome or satin black, depending on what you fancy.

Its a simple modification, easy to do for even the most novice of car DIY-ers and can really change the way your X Type looks. A detailed report on how to change the grille will soon be added to my website when I update it all with useful Jaguar information (if you have any tips you want to share with the world then please do email me, you will be fully recognised on the website that the work is yours).

The grille supplied fits all X Types from start to finish of production and can either be used to replace the slats in the older style X Types and keeping the chrome surround, or for the facelift look, you can buy the later colour coded grille surround that doesnt have the centre part. Here you will instead affix the growler badge. This has been shown in the image of a 52 reg X Type, complete with the mesh grille and later grille surround with badge, and can be compared to the new mesh grille with chrome standard surround in TiSO and also a photo of TiSO when I first got her with her old and original grille.

Of course, this isnt the only thing you can do, and in fact many X Type owners may be very interested to see just how much can be chopped and changed from old to new X Types, and more of these changes are on the "To-Do" list for TiSO and will hopefully be completed at some point over the course of 2011.

In the mean time, heres to 10 years of the X-Type!
