Brucie has now been MOT’d for another year, with no advisories, and put away for the winter. On 4th November 2018 I celebrated my 8th year as Brucie’s custodian – the longest I have ever owned any car! Purchased at 132,000 miles, Brucie has now covered almost 174,000 miles, with many exciting adventures along the way, all of which have been recorded in Brucie’s Diary over the past 8 years!
This will be the last regular entry for Brucie’s Diary, as I am now so busy with other Jaguar projects, leaving me minimal time to complete my monthly newsletter.
This being the final newsletter of the year, and Brucie’s November diary update coinciding with the anniversary of my custodianship of Brucie, it seems appropriate that this will be the last regular entry for Brucie’s Diary.
Brucie’s Diary will now be added to as and when I consider it relevant, on Brucie’s Diary page.
For our October meeting we were very privileged to have a fabulous presentation from Nigel Webb who made the long trip north to talk about his life and times around cars and the museum he has created, which is a personal tribute to the memory of Mike Hawthorn, our first F1 world champion.
While Nigel and Wendy were staying with us at our home in the Scottish Borders, we gave Nigel a guided tour around Jim Clark country!
We are deeply grateful to Nigel and Wendy for taking time out of their very busy schedule to visit us and members of the Edinburgh JEC region at our October meeting.
Many thanks also go to our neighbours from Glasgow and Fife and Tayside JEC Regions for supporting the evening, and a hearty welcome to new member David Hamilton!
